ERGONOMICS – BARREL SAUNA COMFORT

Bathing comfort is essential when choosing an outdoor sauna barrel. Barrel diameter and bench/backrest configuration significantly impact the experience. Smaller barrels may reduce cost due to less material usage, but they often compromise door height, bench comfort, and headroom.

A tighter barrel curve can create seating posture limitations, reduce standing height, and require bending when entering or exiting. The ERGO Series Sauna Barrels feature a 6’5” interior height, providing significantly improved space and usability.

Thanks to the larger diameter, benches can be ergonomically contoured for a more natural and supportive seating position. The wider barrel structure allows for a curved backrest that provides true lumbar support. Comfort is further enhanced with knot-free, silky-smooth grade-A Thermo-Aspen seating material designed to adapt to most body sizes.

DURABILITY – LONG-LASTING OUTDOOR PERFORMANCE

Thermo-Spruce lasts up to 2X longer than Cedar wood. Each SaunaLife barrel is constructed using industry-leading 1.65” thick full-length staves that deliver excellent thermal resistance (R-value).

This chemical-free, eco-friendly wood is dimensionally stable and ideal for outdoor sauna environments. It is even used in outdoor showers due to its durability.

The ERGO Series focuses heavily on material thickness, including Thermo-Aspen benches and backrests (1.1” thick and 3-1/2” wide), nearly 50% thicker than standard designs for enhanced durability and comfort.

INGENUITY – ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE

Despite its simple appearance and easy installation, the ERGO-Series includes advanced engineering features designed for real-world outdoor use.

These sauna barrels are built to handle water exposure. Construction begins with heavy-duty 1-7/8” wide and 1/8” thick stainless steel barrel bands that compress the staves to create a strong, stable structure.

A watertight DIY shingle kit with side-mounted drip edges ensures effective rainwater control. Inside, dual floor drains are included—one positioned under the sauna heater for water use and another near the door for cold plunge or pool drainage.

Even if the barrel shifts slightly out of level, the dual drain system ensures reliable water management.

ILLUMINATION – INSIDE AND OUT

Lighting enhances both the visual appeal and overall sauna experience. Only low-voltage, waterproof LED systems are used.

SaunaLife provides a white LED lighting system with Wi-Fi app control, allowing users to set the ideal ambiance before entering the sauna. A handheld remote is also included for on/off and dimming control.

The LED system is heat- and water-rated (IP67) and produces a smooth, dotless glow. It is expandable up to four white LED fixtures.

Optional upgrades include the E Sconce+ Package, which adds two exterior LED wall sconces and an interior LED light bar, and the E MOOD Lighting Package for full-color lighting effects and enhanced atmosphere.

SaunaLife uses premium Nordic Spruce, dried to a rich golden color that highlights its natural grain and rustic tight-knot character.

Inside, Thermo-Aspen benches and backrests provide a smooth, knot-free, premium finish with a refined natural appearance.
