Bathing comfort is a key factor when investing in an outdoor sauna barrel. The barrel diameter and bench/backrest design directly affect usability. Smaller diameter barrels may reduce material cost but often compromise door height, seating comfort, and headroom. They can also create a tighter interior arc, leading to less natural seating posture, reduced standing clearance, and the need to duck when entering or exiting.

The ERGO Series Sauna Barrels feature a 6’5” interior height for improved comfort. The larger diameter allows ergonomically contoured, form-fitting benches and a naturally arched backrest that provides strong lumbar support. The seating is made from knot-free, silky-smooth grade-A Thermo-Aspen, designed for comfort across different body sizes.

Full-glass front wall

Large windows enhance the feeling of openness in any sauna. The Model E7G includes bronzed, full-height tempered glass sidelight windows, combined with a matching tempered glass door to create a full glass front wall. This design allows natural light to fill the interior, creating a bright, airy sauna environment with wide outdoor views.

Thermo-Spruce offers up to 2X longer lifespan than Cedar wood. Each SaunaLife barrel is built using 1.65” thick full-length staves that provide strong structural integrity and excellent thermal resistance (R-value). This eco-friendly, chemical-free wood is dimensionally stable and ideal for outdoor sauna environments. The same material is also used in high-exposure applications such as outdoor showers.

The ERGO Series emphasizes material thickness throughout, including Thermo-Aspen benches and backrests (1.1” thick and 3-1/2” wide), nearly 50% thicker than standard sauna seating for enhanced durability and comfort.

Despite its simple design and easy installation, the ERGO-Series includes advanced engineering features. The structure is secured with 1-7/8” wide and 1/8” thick stainless steel barrel bands that compress the staves for long-term stability.

A watertight DIY shingle roof kit with side-mounted drip edges ensures effective rainwater management. Inside, dual floor drains improve drainage performance—one positioned under the heater for water-tossing use and another near the door to handle water from pools or cold plunges, even if the unit is not perfectly level.

Illumination – Inside and out

Lighting enhances both the visual appeal and sauna experience. The system uses low-voltage, waterproof LED lighting with a Wi-Fi app-based control system for pre-setting ambiance before entering the sauna. A handheld remote is also included for on/off and dimming control.

The SaunaLife white LED system is IP67-rated, heat- and water-certified, and dotless for smooth, even illumination. It can be expanded up to four fixtures and supports the optional E Sconce+ Package (two outdoor LED sconces plus interior lightbar) and the E MOOD Lighting Package for color-based ambiance effects.
